Additionally, mushroom compost also serves as a good bedding material for your vermicomposting worms. Other uses include mixing them into your potting mix and quickening the decomposition of your regular compost pile as a potent brown-like material that aerates.

Mushroom compost is highly recommended for home composting initiatives especially when space is limited (without resorting to use of bulky leaves or clumsy newspaper sheets as brown material). The powdery physical qualities of fine particles provides a large surface area to absorb liquids and odour. 1. This product is NOT 100% pure saw dust. It has been partially decomposed over time, potentially containing mushroom mycelium residue.
2. This product is NOT garden soil. It has to be mixed with soil for planting, unless it is used alone by itself as mulch.
3. This product is NOT to be used for growing mushrooms, although it can be attempted with some success. Much of its nutrients have been utilised in the growing of mushrooms at the initial stage. Thus, it is now recycled to be used in growing other plants.
4. This product is NOT a compost made of entirely mushroom materials, although traces of mushroom mycelium growth tissues may be present. It was formerly a substrate or growing medium made up of rubber wood chips used to cultivate mushroom.
5. This product does NOT contain any animal manure.
