SUSTAINABILITY

  • We strive to maintain a zero-waste campsite. As such, we encourage our guests to practice waste separation in accordance to a list of guiding instructions we have provided onsite. Our guests have the option to pay a housekeeping fee of between RM 10 – RM 50 for us to undertake the cleaning/recycling tasks on their behalf.
  • Please pour all used cooking oil into a marked 5L used water bottle that has been provided. Do not pour used cooking oil into the kitchen sink or WC. All waste have to be separated in accordance to their categories as follows:
    • Non-recyclables: Wax Boxes, Oily Sachets, Diapers, Sanitary Pad, Face Masks, greased packaging or any food-tainted packaging that is almost impossible to wash. [ONE large black bin marked and provided]
    • Recyclables (we would be most glad if you could help us give them a brief rinse if need be):
      • Inorganic: Plastics, Glass, Metal, Aluminium, E-waste [FIVE white paint pails marked and provided]
      • Organic: Pizza Cardboxes, Food Waste, Fruit Peels, Tea Bags, Coffee Grounds, Bones, etc (dispose this into the paint pail provided) [FOUR white paint pails marked and provided]
  • Please only use the natural and biodegradable body wash/shampoo and dish washing liquid that have been provided. As a working farm, it is of utmost importance to be using chemical-free washing liquid to preserve the environment in which safe and nutritious food is grown. We thank you in advance for your kind consideration.
  • As our flush toilet is a sensitive and living system filled with composting worms, please do not throw large non-biodegradable solids such as plastics, kitchen paper towels, sanitary pads, diapers and wet wipes into the WC. The system can however take toilet paper that has been supplied.

HOUSE RULES

  • All guests are required to bring their own cooking equipment and eating utensils.
  • We provide only harvested rainwater for general use, shower and washing purposes. The water is not fit for drinking and cooking. Guests are to bring their own supply of drinking water.
  • Bon fire or campfire is to be made only in the designated and allotted space. A reasonable amount of firewood is provided on a complimentary basis. However, if more is needed for a bon fire, a surcharge of RM 80 applies. As a working farm, all wood material is a valuable carbon resource, which contributes to our farm health and food production. The sustainability of our source of firewood has to be maintained and managed accordingly.
  • Guests can help themselves to the fruits at the farm when in season (rambutans and durians only). They are only to be consumed at the farm. For takeaways of these seasonal fruits, there will be charges applicable based on prevailing rates. Other produce such as herbs, chilies and lemon grass can be harvested in small quantities to be used during your stay with us.
  • Please keep all waste bin lids tightly closed and food items properly stowed away to avoid stray dogs, monkeys and potentially wild boars from rummaging through them.
  • Please switch off the lights and fan when not in use.
  • Please conserve water usage and turn off all water taps when not in use as we have limited rainwater that has been harvested for use by all our guests. The same water supply is also used for our irrigation purposes.
  • To ensure a pleasant stay of our other guests, please keep all noise level down after 10:00 pm.

SAFETY

  • As the farm vicinity is a relatively safe area, guests are still expected to exercise caution with regards to their personal belongings. We will not be held liable for the lost and damage of your personal belongings. Should you be making excursions during your stay, please inform us in advance so the farm workers can lock the gates in your absence to safeguard your belongings.
  • Despite the “wild” nature of certain sections of the farm, we have undertaken all necessary measures to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. That includes for example, well-marked paths and safe clearance from any protrusion of unwanted vegetation. However, we will not be held responsible for any untoward incidents arising out of the extraordinary beyond our control (e.g. snake/insect bites, falling branches/durians, slip and fall, etc).
  • While children are permitted on campsite grounds, their safety will be under the full responsibility of attending guardians and parents. As the campsite is within an active and natural permaculture farm with some deliberate overgrowth of vegetation in certain areas, the presence of insects and wild animals are to be expected. As such, guardians and parents bringing children to the campsite will do so at their own risk.
  • On the same note, we have taken the liberty to trim pointy pineapple leaves that are protruding into the camping space. This is done to ensure the safety of our guests and especially children. Please be mindful of this hazard where pineapples are grown in abundance at the farm. Similarly, please be watchful over other potential hazards: stray dogs, deep pond, honey bees, etc. Take refuge under our common area shelter or your tents and not under trees during a stormy downpour.
